Maxabra since 1981

In late 1981, Mahendrabhai started a business called Maxabra, dealing in abrasives. Initially, they had a dealership for Cutfast MAKE JAWAN brand abrasives. In 1983, MAXABRA acquired the dealership for Carborundum Universal Ltd. and eventually began supplying abrasives to various companies, including Alfa Laval India Ltd., Bharat Forge Ltd., Kirloskar Cummins, Thermax Ltd., Walchandnagar Industries Ltd., Kalyani Forge, Divgi Metal Wares, Ashok Iron (Belgaum), Amforge (then Isha Steel), Trinity Engineers, SKF, Jaya Hind Industries, Kinetic Engg., and many more. Remarkably, even after 30 years, they continue to cater to most of these highly esteemed engineering and forging clients.

In 1991, MAXABRA expanded into the cutting tools business by acquiring the dealership for the ‘IT’ brand cutting tools. The quality-conscious customers they had acquired helped them grow.

In 1994, MAXABRA ventured into the power tools business by adding Black & Decker, Bajaj-Dewalt, Hitachi, and Electrex to their product range.

After discontinuing the ‘IT’ brand in 1997, MAXABRA sought a cutting tools manufacturer. Fortunately, they found the highly regarded brand ‘Addison,’ the undisputed number one HSS metal cutting tools company in the country, and added it to their product range in 2002. Since then, with a brand like Addison, MAXABRA has established itself as a highly trustworthy supplier.

In 2004, MAXABRA acquired the dealership for Emkay Tools, Nagpur, for HSS and HSS-E taps. In 2008, they expanded further by acquiring the dealership for Lenox make Bimetal Band saws.

After the passing of our beloved Mahendrabhai in 2005, his two sons carried on the business with his philosophy of prioritising commitment in all aspects, including quality, rate, and timely delivery to customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, Maxabra lost its two pillars, Mr. Sanjay Shah in 2021 and Mr. Darshan Shah in 2022, but it retained its principles and teachings. The business is now being continued by the third generation.

In 2024, Maxabra expanded its product range by adding the renowned cutting tool brand “YG1,” solidifying its position as a comprehensive abrasives and cutting tools supplier.
